Permit endorsed contractor licenses must be obtained for building and utility work. There are different license categories based on the work to be performed in each area. This type of license is only for construction contractors whose work requires a permit or performs mechanical and plumbing work. If your work does not require a permit and/or is not described as mechanical and plumbing contractor work requiring a utility license, you should apply for a non-permit endorsed license at https://www.newcastlede.gov/398/Non-Permit-Endorsed-Contractor-License.

Minimum limit of $250,000 for all damages arising out of personal injuries to or death of one person and all damages arising out of injury to, destruction of, or loss of use of property in any one occurrence. B. Aggregate limit of $500,000 for all damages arising out of personal injury to or death of two or more persons in any one occurrence.

The Bond must be properly signed on the back by the sole proprietor or principal of the business entity (listed in the previous section) and the surety agent. The surety agent’s seal must be legible (raised seals should be shaded with a pencil or highlighted to be visible when scanned in color). The Contractor (business name and address) on the front of the Bond must match the sole proprietor or business entity name in the previous section. The surety agent must also include their Proof of Authority or Power of Attorney page with the Bond form. Your surety company or agent must use the form available online at: https://www.newcastlede.gov/396/Permit-Endorsed-Contractor-License. Modified Bond forms will not be accepted.
