ARPA Grants for Animal Welfare Non-Profits

As part of New Castle County’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant, New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer proposed, and New Castle County Council approved, $9.55 million in support to non-profits in New Castle County.

Of that allocation, $500,000 has been appropriated for non-profit organizations supporting animal welfare. New Castle County will accept applications through December 16, 2022, for proposals intended to address pandemic-related impacts to non-profits addressing animal welfare. All requests must be for not less than $10,000. Requests for less than $10,000 will not be approved due to the administration and compliance costs associated with each grant.

(i) Identify a harm or impact to a beneficiary or class of beneficiaries caused or exacerbated by COVID-19 or its negative economic impacts;

(iii) Explain how the program or service is reasonably designed to benefit the beneficiary or class of beneficiaries that experienced the harm or impact; and
